Ferrari sporting director Laurent Mekies confirmed Ferrari will not bring any further updates for the remainder of the season at today's FIA press conference.

Asked by motorlat.com over the matter, the Frenchman stated that the Italian outfit will start focussing entirely on 2020 and possibly 2021. Despite the fact that Ferrari has been building momentum since the Belgian GP, it was unclear whether the Maranello-based squad was keen on carrying on with the development of the SF90.

"I think it's that time of the year when we are all switching our attentions to 2020 -said Mekies- so I don't think there will be anything significant from now until the end of the season."

"As you mentioned, on top of that, you also need to start thinking about what is going to happen next. So the short answer is there won't be anything significant anymore".

Now that Ferrari displayed evident signs of strength on the downforce, an area where it had manifested some deficit over the summer. Therefore, such gains stand for a remarkable achievement that can allow the Italian team to be in the mix to fight for the podium and victories regularly.
