The Mercedes victorious March

F1 fans are really tired of the endless titles of Mercedes and its drivers. But what about the team's wins in every race of the season? It seems this year it's quite real.

There are only 8 Grand Prix that have passed since the beginning of the season, but now it may seem that the best team of the last five years has seriously thought about winning every race of the championship. And while they deal with it easily.

The first race of the season-2019 in Australia was the opening of the "1-2 finishes" series for the team. Mercedes managed to achieve an incredible achievement – 5 double podiums in a row, and after a short break, when Lewis and Valtteri were separated by Sebastian Vettel, at the French Grand Prix, Mercedes drivers performed in their classic style again. However, all 8 races at the moment are won by Mercedes drivers, and it seems that if at the beginning of the season the fans were happy with the unexpected appearance of the "Porridge Man", now the team is again focused on its unanimous leader and champion Lewis Hamilton.

Despite the endless success of the team, even the best has weaknesses. So, Mercedes could lose a few podiums and victories at some Grand Prix. In Bahrain, where Ferrari is always favorites, Hamilton's victory and Bottas' podium were under the threat. But by a happy coincidence, firstly, Vettel disappeared from their way, due to his own mistake, and then Charles Leclerc faced technical problems. Clearly, the phrase "like attracts like" 100% suits the team and its drivers, they are so successful, so focused on their work that even luck helps them on the track. Canada was an incredibly high-level incident in the season, but there Mercedes again managed to become the winner, although it is obvious, the victory wasn't guaranteed to them.

So, it's logical the endless Mercedes victories - not only this year, but over the past five years - make F1 fans very bored. This year the superiority of the team has become especially grandiose, and the fans are more and more indignant. But let's look at it from other side and ask ourselves: "Is it really Mercedes fault?". What is the fault of the team and its employees? That they are too good at what they do? In fact, the problem is that the rivals can't perform at the same level of Mercedes. Let's not talk about the midfield teams - there is another, more serious problem - they can't compare to Mercedes financially. Fortunately, this will be resolved in the near future. Let's consider three top teams, or even two, since this season Red Bull works with Honda and its engines first time.

So, Ferrari vs. Mercedes. Obviously, this year there are major changes in Ferrari and reformation of the team. However, in Bahrain and Canada Scuderia drivers had every chance to prevent Lewis and Valtteri. However, Mercedes has nothing to do with the constant technical problems of Italian cars or - with all due respect to Vettel - spinnings and mistakes of the German.

The upcoming race weekend in Austria could be another obstacle on the winning path of Mercedes. The Austrian Grand Prix has never been the team's strong point. In 2016, the first place went to Lewis, but Nico Rosberg (former Mercedes driver) was only the 4th. In 2017, on the contrary, Hamilton's teammate Bottas won the race, and the British took P4. Last year, the Grand Prix became a real nightmare for Mercedes: both cars dropped out of the fight, due to technical problems. However, apart from Ferrari, Red Bull is also very strong at this track, and Max Verstappen won last year's race there.

In May Toto Wolff in an interview with Motorsport.com said that "winning all F1 2019 races is not realistic". Of course, at the moment, it's still very far from the end of the first part of the season, and it's too early to make bold statements. However, looking back at the team's performance this season, it's not surprising if in Abu Dhabi we will witnesses of an incredible achievement - 100% record of Mercedes for the maximum number of victories in the season. By the way, in 2016 they were very close to this, they won 19 of the 21 races, missing out in Spain and Malaysia.
