Aragon GP | Marc Marquez closes Friday on top

Marc Marquez topped the FP2 session of Aragon GP, right behind were the Ducatis of Lorenzo and Dovizioso.

Another sunny session started with everyone going out straight away. Marc Marquez set an early 1:48.644 on Hard Front and Rear.

Iannone, who was following Marquez and both of them exchanged words, went fastest with 1:48.381. A 0.263 faster than Marquez was a benchmark for most of the 45 minutes session.

It was four minutes remaining in the session when it started to come for top riders. Marquez going fastest with a fast 1:47 of the day. Shortly after his time was beaten by Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow.

Marc Marquez straight away on his next flying lap wasn’t holding any horses went fastest in all sectors to go fastest with a time of 1:47.382, a 0.453 ahead of Ducati of Dovizioso whose time was beaten by teammate Lorenzo to slot in between Marc and Dovi, 0.138 slower than top.

Crutchlow couldn’t go faster than P4 0.027 behind P3 and a 0.050 ahead of P6 rider Iannone.

Danillo Petrucci managed a 7th fastest time ahead of second works Honda of Dani Pedrosa who finally is getting up to the pace.

Bautista with a sensational lap on his 3rd run finished the session P4 ahead of Rossi who finally managed a top 10 time, he edged his teammat by a few thousandth a second.

Halfway through the session top five of the session were Iannone ahead of Marquez who was a 0.011 ahead of Cal Crutchlow. Dovizioso and Pedrosa completed top 5 ahead of Rins and Petrucci.

Just under the halfway through the session Lorenzo went 5th fastest 0.010 behind Dovizioso.

Rossi as most of the session past was still dwindling outside the top 10 combined times of the riders who will make it through Q2 directly, as track is still improving, he will definitely have lot of time to improve his time in FP3.

With seven minutes remaining in the session after having an entertaining FP1 , Jack Miller on Front Medium and Soft Rear, went fastest in all sector but lost almost four tenths in last sector to went 4th fastest ahead of Dovizioso.

Bautista also put up a show to go second fastest 0.071 behind Iannone.
