Two weeks ago, Jorge Lorenzo won an epic battle with Marc Marquez to take the win at the Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring.

The Red Bull Ring has always been a Ducati track since the return of the circuit in 2016. Since then, Ducati has won every time.

This weekend MotoGP heads to the UK for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone where Marquez will be looking to extend his lead in the championship even further over his nearest rivals.

This historic circuit is 5.9km long with one of the longest straights on the calendar which is 770m. The circuit has 18 corners, eight left and 10 right and which produces great overtaking opportunities and creates fantastic racing.

Marquez heads into Silverstone with a 59-point lead ahead of Valentino Rossi. Lorenzo moved up to third in the world standings, 71 points behind Marquez, after his win in Austria and his teammate Andrea Dovizioso is one point behind him. 

Last year at the British GP, Marquez took pole on Saturday with a record-breaking lap ahead of Rossi but, it was the dominant Ducati of Dovizioso who took the win. Both factory Yamaha's made the podium with Vinales second and Rossi in third. 

In that race, Marquez' Honda engine blew up as he was fighting at the front of the pack, so it was a DNF for him.

Leading Brit, Cal Crutchlow managed fourth place last year but is hoping for even better this year.

Alongside Crutchlow, Bradley Smith and Scott Redding will be looking to have a great race in front of their home crowd.

The UK is known for its bizarre weather conditions, but this weekend looks promising to be a dry race. However, it is the UK, so the weather could change at anytime over the course of the weekend!
