#AustrianGP | Dovizioso Shines in FP1

Dovizioso topped the opening session of the myWorld Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich this morning. Marquez followed closely in 2nd, with Viñales hot on their heels in 3rd. This morning’s FP1 session was dry and bright, the forecast for this afternoon is sunny, clear skies.

Dovizioso topped the opening session of the Austrian GP weekend, with a time of 1:24:033 Following closely in second was Marquez who set a time of 1:24:218. In 3rd position was Viñales who set a time of 1:24:280.

Dovizioso topped this morning’s timesheets, opening his #AustrianGP weekend exactly as planned. Miller  who has been the centre of media speculations this weekend, placed 4th, with a time of 1:24:360. Ducati’s contender for Rookie of the YearBagnaia found himself in 13th, setting a time of 1:24:996. Petrucci placed 14th, with a time of 1:25:111.  Abraham found himself in 16th position, having set a time of 1:25::322. Rabat found himself down in 21st, setting a time of 1:25:945.

The fastest Honda for this morning’s FP1 session of the Austrian GP was current championship leader Marquez who placed 2nd. Nakagami placed 9th, with a time of 1:24:861.  Britain’s Crutchlow placed 11th, with a time of 1:24:962. Honda test rider and wildcard, Bradl set a time of 1:25:651, placing him 19th.

This morning’s session left Yamaha’s Viñales in 3rd overall. Rossi showed pace throughout the opening session, finishing 5th, having set a time of 1:24:469. Yamaha’s contender for Rookie of the Year, Quartararo set a time of 1:24:471, placing him 6th. Morbidelli set a time of 1:25:385, placing him 17th, with improvements to be made to ensure a top 10 time for FP2.

Suzuki’s lone representative, Rins, placed 7th in this morning’s session, with a time of 1:24:576. Mir, who had a nasty crash during the Monday testing at Brno, will miss this weekend’s racing.

Top KTM for FP1, was Zarco with a time of 1:24:670, placing him 8th.  Oliveria placed 10th, with a time of 1:24:924. P. Espargaro found himself in 15th position, having set a time of 1:25:195, he will look to improve this through FP2. Syahrin placed 20th, with a time of 1:25:733, he suffered a crash during the session.

The fastest Aprilia was A, Espargaro with a time of 1:24:968, in 12th.  Iannone placed 18th, with a time of 1:25:405.

Top Rookie this session was Quartararo in 6th, can he lead the Yamaha charge through FP2 and into tomorrow’s qualifying session?
