The Jeddah Grand Prix has been a tight fight between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc. However, there is another Ferrari driver who well impressed throughout the race. Carlos Sainz managed to arrive third, the same place where he started from after the Qualifying, even if behind different people. When the race started, he was overcome by Verstappen who was fourth but the Spanish continued to hold on.

“I had a very good launch at the start but I ran out of space on the right and Max got better traction in the inside line” – the Spaniard explained, talking about the reason he had to surrender to the Dutch Red Bull driver at the start of the race.

“From there it was quite straightforward, - he commented. – However, I don’t understand why I wasn’t given the position back behind the Safety Car when it was clear I was ahead of Checo exiting from the pitlane. It didn’t give me the chance to fight for P2 at the restart, but it is what it is."

Looking back at the race, Sainz can feel quite content of his result, especially knowing that he could do even better. “Ferrari is back”, he tweeted some time ago. And it really seems like he is right.

“P3 is a good result and overall this has been a fairly positive weekend, definitely better than one week ago in Bahrain. I feel we are going in the right direction with this car and it’s just a matter of time we are fighting a bit further up. I’m sure. We have a clearer picture of where and what we need to improve and we have a direction to follow. Can’t wait to go to Australia after two years without racing there".
