The latest launch date announced is also the the one that is chronologically closer to us. Haas has just revealed that tomorrow, on the 4th of February, the new livery that will be run in the upcoming championship  will be unveiled.

After the most difficult season in the American team's history, with no points scored throughout the whole season and no upgrades made to the car during the whole year, in order to focus on projecting the challenger to compete under the new regulations, the Team Principal believes that 2022 will be much better, stating that they hope to join the midfield and be able to compete for points.

The car to compete in the next season will be known as the VF-22, and will be the first one projected under the technical supervision of Simone Resta, who has been previously employed by Ferrari as Chief Designer, but had to leave the Scuderia last season due to the introduction of the budget cap.

Resta has since joined the American outlet, which has a close relationship with the Maranello-based Italian team as Ferrari is Haas's engine supplier, and has taken on the role of Technical Director.

Haas confirmed already last year their lineup, retaining as official drivers Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher, who is competing this weekend in the Race of Champions alongside Sebastian Vettel for Team Germany, and Pietro Fittipaldi as Reserve and Test driver.

The former 2021 rookies won't have an easy job in adapting to their new challenger, as Haas doesn't own a simulator. This issue was brought up already by Mazepin in the previous season, especially in relation to racing on new tracks, while Schumacher, Ferrari Academy driver, was allowed to use Ferrari's sim technology.

Haas 'Team Principal Günther Steiner has announced that it has been solved, as both drivers will have free access to a Ferrari simulator to prepare the 2022 campaign.

Steiner said in an exclusive interview with RacingNews365.com that, while so far the team haven't really instructed the drivers on the new car, the simulator will be set up soon: "At the moment, we have done very little with [preparing the drivers for] the new era car. We did go to the simulator before the test, because we are making the model we use, I call it the old Ferrari simulator, the commercial simulator from Ferrari."

The drivers will probably have their first sim experience for the American team after the debut of the livery, as Steiner added:

"But we are just setting it up now. The first rounds will be [in the] beginning of February, and then we see."
"And that is how we get them at least hopefully somehow acquainted to how the new car behaves," he concluded.
