Alter a tricky qualifying session, Mick Schumacher will start tomorrow´s race from the 17th place. The F2 champion shared with a selected group of journalists his feelings on today’s session and his expectations for tomorrow´s race.

“We expected it to be a tricky qualifying for everybody. We got through, that´s a big positive. We probably didn´t extract the maximum, we made a mistake in turn 4 which cost me quite a bit looking at the lap time. Unfortunate, but tomorrow’s a new day, it’s sure going to be a tricky day for everybody so hopefully we´ll be in the mix.”

When he was asked by MotorLat.com if he is expecting a challenging race for tomorrow, Schumacher said, “Probably. Looking at the forecast for tomorrow. It seems like it´s gonna be windy again such as we saw on Thursday. So I think we´ll wait and see. Obviously, windy conditions always make things interesting specially around here…we have some quick guys behind us who are gonna move forward that will create some confusion ahead of us which then may bring us back into contention… we should hope for a safety car in the race and that we stay around the people that are around us right now. I think that´s all we can do right now. We´ll have a bit lesser gap to the teams ahead in the race pace”

Schumacher also pointed out that he doesn´t mind racing in street circuits “as long as I get to drive the car I´m happy. I feel comfortable in this track, I feel comfortable in Monaco and I feel also comfortable in a race track. I´m happy in any conditions.”

Mick commented that he had to go “back to his first P.U ...the team is investigating what happened. I hope we´ll get back the engine and we´ll be able to use it.”

The tricky qualifying session didn´t distract him “it was actually not too bad. Obviously, the red flags make the session quite messy we had a plan, the plan change as soon as there is a yellow or red flag. We have to adapt but I felt we as a team adapted perfectly too. We managed to get in the rounds we wanted to…for me personally I felt quite comfortable out there. I´m happy with our performance to an extent, obviously, it could have been better but we´ll just leave it at that.”
