F1 | Emilia Romagna GP | "It's Been A Rollercoaster Of A Day" Says Gasly
Scuderia AlphaTauri's Pierre Gasly reflects on his eventful race day as well as a few takeaways going into the next round.
Today's race was definitely eventful, and while AlphaTauri did score a few points with Gasly but also experienced an unfortunate spin by Tsunoda after the red flag, it is enough to admit that it made their lives more complicated than they needed to be and they did not score the points that the package was capable of this weekend.
a tough race for us at home, but plenty of positives to take from the weekend plus some points to add to the tally 👌 pic.twitter.com/yVzqQXXhWT

According to Gasly, "For sure, it’s been a rollercoaster of a day – we started from P5 but we made a different call with tyres at the start of the race and quickly ended up at the back."
He continues, "Obviously, I was very disappointed, but from there we kept fighting and after the red flag we managed to make our way forward again to cross the finish line in eighth position."
He adds, "Following the race, I’ve moved up into P7 and I’m pretty pleased with that as a finishing position – we managed to recover some crucial points for the team, which is really positive."
To conclude, "We showed the potential of the car on Saturday and next time out we just need to put it all together across the whole weekend.”

The whole team is frustrated, but will discuss today's race in an open and pragmatic manner and so that they can improve their results at the next Grand Prix.
