Carlos Sainz Jr will make his first appearance for Ferrari next week with a test session at the team's Fiorano test track with the Spaniard set to test on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

The twenty-six-year-old Spaniard will drive the 2018 SF71-H in order to get up to speed with the team's procedures as well as to get to know Ferrari's engineers that he will work with throughout the season.

Charles Leclerc will also get a day's testing in the SF71-H on Tuesday with the Monegasque making his first public appearance since contracting Covid-19.

Haas driver and 2020 Formula 2 Champion Mick Schumacher will take over from Sainz on Thursday afternoon as well as Friday morning.

Callum Ilott will take the reigns as begins his duties as Ferrari reverse driver on Friday afternoon. The Brit finished 2nd to Schumacher in Formula 2 last year. Mattia Binotto has talked about the possibility of Ilott getting opportunities in practice sessions for Ferrari during the 2021 season as he won't be in F2 this year.

Ferrari will also give members of their young driver academy time in the SF71-H on Monday with Giuliano Alesi set to begin the week's running on Monday morning with Marcus Armstrong and Robert Shwartzman set to test as well.

Alesi won't be participating in Formula 2 this year and could potentially drive in Super Formula over in Japan.

Meanwhile, Armstrong and Shwartzman will stay in Formula 2 as they look to impress Ferrari in the hope of getting a seat on the Formula 1 grid come 2022.

Armstrong moves to DAMS following a difficult 2020 campaign with ART after a promising start. Robert Shwartzman stays with Prema. The Russian took four wins (the most of any) in his debut campaign, but a lack of qualifying speed and consistency left him in down in P4 in the standings.
