Lewis Hamilton picks up the win in an extremely eventful and chaotic Turkish GP in wet and intermediate conditions. The Briton started from P6 and recovered to the race lead, owing to masterful tyre management. Poleman Lance Stroll's race was compromised by a pit stop call at Lap 36, whereas Sergio Perez closed in P2 following a last-lap trill as he was engaged in a fight with both Ferraris. Charles Leclerc missed out on a clamorous second place, after he ran wide and allowed Sebastian Vettel to jump on the third step of the podium.

The Turkish GP caused a number of early scares before the race, with Antonio Giovinazzi spinning while heading to the grid and George Russell crashing out at the pit entry.

Lance Stroll maintained the lead at the race start, as Verstappen stalled and lost several positions. This allowed Sebastian Vettel to edge closer to the front, taking advantage of Bottas and Ocon's spins.

Charles Leclerc, far off from his teammate, started rebuilding his race by switching to Inters at lap 7. Stroll pitted two laps later, while Vettel, Hamilton and Albon engaged in an exciting three-way battle in which the Thai driver surprised the Briton and subsequently overtook the Ferrari for P4.

In the meantime, Verstappen spun while attempting an overtake on Perez and the trio led by Albon took advantage of it. However, it did not take much for the tables to turn completely, as Hamilton was able to grab P3 after Albon spun and Ferrari cost Sebastian Vettel his position during the pit stop.

Stroll pitted at lap 36, gifting Sergio Perez with the leadership of the Turkish GP. Lewis Hamilton kept pressuring the Mexican until he managed to overtake him. Stroll’s set of Intermediate tyres caused him to struggle with graining from the beginning of the stint, allowing Vettel to close the gap and overtake him. The Canadian fired back but ran wide and opened the door to Vettel, Leclerc and Albon.

Sainz recovered to P5, as he overtook both Red Bulls after getting past Lance Stroll. His teammate Lando Norris also took advantage of Stroll's struggles and gained P8, as the Canadian tried to limit the damage after his dreaded pit stop at lap 36.

Valtteri Bottas endured a difficult race, facing three spins over the course of the 58 laps. The Finn crossed the line in P14, lapped by his teammate.

The ultimate thrill came at the very end, when Charles Leclerc attempted to overtake Sergio Perez for P2 but he went wide. Therefore, the Mexican was able to reclaim his position and Sebastian Vettel capitalized on Leclerc's mistake to end up in P3.
