F1 | Belgian GP | FP3: Hamilton dives first into qualifying as Vettel drowns last
FP3 session ends with another Hamilton domination. A great performance for the, while Ferrari shocks in negative.
The last session of the free practices ends with a weird schedule, permeated by unpredictability. Lewis Hamilton comes back stronger than ever after a bad FP2, preparing the audience for another pole this afternoon but in second place there is once again a Renault. This time, it’s Esteban Ocon who managed to set his single-seater right behind the Briton. At his back there is Lando Norris with his McLaren.

Coming to the rest of the top ten there is Alexander Albon. The Thai preceded his teammate Max Verstappen, who placed only sixth. In the middle of this Red Bull sandwich there is the second Mercedes, with Valtteri Bottas who seems unable to solve yesterday’s little problems on his super car. Daniel Ricciardo on this session managed to reach the seventh position, right before Lance Stroll on his so much discussed Racing Point. Maybe now Renault will be satisfied on having withdrawn its investigation against the “pink Mercedes”. The last two places of the top ten are occupied by Carlos Sainz –ninth- and Sergio Perez, who finished tenth.
Talking about Carlos Sainz, it seems that the Spanish has to treasure these moments as his next year’s team is really struggling a lot.
An unrecognizable Ferrari, indeed, ended up not only far from the top ten but collected the worst classification since a time so ancient that has been forgotten by everyone.
Charles Leclerc managed to reach an embarrassing seventeenth place, right behind his further team, Alfa Romeo, that can count on Kimi Raikkonen to get a sixteenth place.
Let alone Sebastian Vettel. The German got a last place. Really, there are no words to explain what could have happened in Maranello. Qualifying will be important to this unexpected grid to be confirmed or turned over.
