At Silverstone Lewis Hamilton keeps leading the way on home soil. The Englishman stopped the clock at a time of 1:26.621.
The track lost a bit of performance compared to yesterday due to some wind blowing on the circuit. Nevertheless Mercedes manage to secure again a one-two placement with Valtteri Bottas losing 163 thousands to his team mate, both on soft tyres.
Lando Norris sits third on a yellow painted coumpound over half a second away from the lead.

The great question mark of the 70th Anniversary GP lies over Max Verstappen’s speed: the Dutchman, officially in P7, saw his fastest lap ruined by a sitting-duck Lance Stroll. The off-the-pace Racing Point failed to safely pull out of the racing line at Becketts, while Verstappen was quickly approaching. Many censored words displayed the #33’s frustration for having thrown away the mega lap he was putting together.
The incident has been noted by the stewards, possibly spoiling the Pink Panthers’ party: during the FP3 Nico Hulkenberg managed to grap a solid P4 just 0.007 seconds ahead of Stroll.

Decent performances for Charles Leclerc, quite competitive in almost all the runs. The Monegasque still has to sit in P6, seven tenths away from Hamilton’s P1 and four tenths clear of the second Ferrari. Sebastian Vettel, struggling a bit with the balance, fails to join the top 10 and has to surrender to a unconvincing P13.
Strong performances both for the Alpha Tauris and the Williams, ahead of expectations on their pace this morning. Pierre Gasly in particular caught a great P6 on the opening runs, while ends up just in P11 at the end of the session. Latifi leads Russell for P16.
Just 1.4 seconds keep apart Norris’ P3 from Raikkonen’s nineteenth position.
