The Austrian GP’s race was definitely worth the waiting. The race we have seen on Sunday was an extraordinary one, with a lot of overtakes and a very unpredictable podium. Firstly, the reigning Champion Lewis Hamilton was out of it for a penalisation. Then, not only did Bottas won but Charles Leclerc made it to an excellent second place racing up from the seventh place on the grid to the start and the third driver on the podium is a new one: Lando Norris.

McLaren looks very satisfied of its driver, as the British team has been trying very hard to find a champion who came from their Young Academy. We will remember the now Haas’ driver Kevin Magnussen, who also experienced a podium at his first GP of the season (it was his maiden season too) but then a poorly build car did not help him to continue on that way.

Lando Norris, instead, has a very good car in his hands and he seems to be ready to go on with these results.

For a driver it is important to create this momentum for himself as it gives him the confidence he needs to pull it off when it matters in qualifying and the race- Andreas Seidl stated- Lando was simply building it up as he started well last year. You could see that last year in his race starts when he started carefully at the beginning, and then once he had a bit of confidence and races under his belt, he was there. With the work he has done together with his team over the winter, I think he simply made the next step. I am very happy, very happy with the team, so we can have some great results with him in the future."

Then McLaren’s rising star Norris commented his race himself: “The pace was really nice in clean air. The Ferraris were quicker than us, the Racing Points were quicker than us, especially on the race pace. We were very fast yesterday but the race pace they were for sure quicker. They have a nicer car to drive, a bit more downforce and that helps in the race with the tyre degradation. It was very difficult but I think when I had the clear air, and I kept the tyres in a good condition, then I could really lean on it and the car came alive a bit. We turned up the power a little bit and I put in some really nice laps. I'm still out of breath from trying so much to finish where I did."

Effectively, Lando’s performance left us breathless too and wanting for more. Luckily, we have another Austrian GP on the following Sunday, can we have an encore?
