The Ferrari’s team principal, Mattia Binotto, affirms that the recent Red Bull performance must motivate Ferrari to improve.

Following the season start, with the Mercedes domination, Ferrari has not won any race, while Red Bull has claimed his first victor with Honda in Austria.

Besides, the Milton Keynes team displayed a faster pace than Ferrari during the British Grand Prix, showing significant improvements.

Binotto underlined how Red Bull’s enhanced performance should motivate Ferrari to do better.

"They certainly improved, and if you look at the last two races, as a matter of fact they won in Austria and have been very competitive in Britain.

"I think our packages are very close and I think that the last few races have shown it.

"Are they the second, are we the second? I think we are very close.

"This is giving us a further boost because we know we need to improve and we need to be capable of fighting for the first position at each single race wherever the circuit is.

"It has not been the case in Britain no doubt, and from that perspective it has been disappointing.

"After qualifying we were expecting a better result, but the pace was not good enough and I think there is still a lot to improve."

Despite, Ferrari has a significant advantage of 52 points over the Austrian team in the current standing. Nevertheless it has not managed to win any race in the 2019 season.

Leclerc as a pole contender during the three last grand prix and the Baharin’s engine problems when he was leading the race, has been close to claim the first victory for Ferrari, while Vettel has been struggling with the SF90 recently.

In particular, the four-time Formula 1 world champion has remarked how he did not feel confident with the car during the qualifying session at Silverstone.

"The car felt a lot better in the race and obviously we didn't change the car, you're not allowed to do that.

"I just couldn't extract the performance from the car in qualifying whereas in the race it kind of came naturally and was a no brainer.

"I had more confidence in the tyres and in the car overall."
